ADN Degree – Easiest Way to Get a Nurse Job

ADN stands for Associated Degree in Nursing and this is your ticket to working as a nurse in the near future. ADN degree will only take you two years to finish and it will already cover the basic skills that are needed when you’re already working independently. After you’ve finished the ADN degree, you will need to apply for a certification exam, the NCLEX-RN. You can get the application form from your state. After successfully passing the said exam, you can now work as a registered nurse or RN. Your job it to collect samples, dispense medications, explain some test results to concerned patients, run basic lab tests, and supervise the LVN if you are working in the hospital.

This is the perfect entry level that you can get if you want to work at a local hospital. Once you’re able to get 1 or more years of experience, you can take up the BSN degree. By finishing this degree, you will be now capable of handling management positions.

ADN Degree Requirements

Since colleges have different requirements, you have to ensure that you meet up with the most basic requirements - listing of biology courses and have at least “C” grade (math, English, sociology, computer literacy, and writing). If you didn’t take a pre-nursing course, you have to take it right away. Aside from that, you also need to get a 940 or higher SAT score. If your community offers high school programs that will prepare you for the ADN degree, take advantage of them. You can also get LVN or LPN certifications.

There are now online ADN degree programs where you can easily register. It would be best to enroll at a program that will allow you to learn at your own pace and interact with other online classmates.
